ECHO FOR GOOGLE ASSISTANT
Who hasn't missed a plane because of a bad PA system or lack of attention?
I made a new function for Google Assistant called Echo. Echo listens for important information from public announcement systems that you might not hear if you're listening to podcast with your headphones on or if you simply cannot hear it due to bad speakers.
To help travellers and to spread the word we launched a campaign in the UK where Google Assistant echoed every announcement live via digital billboards in every airport and mainline train stations. In these locations Echo doesn't need your phone's microphone - it uses the local microphones installed in the airports/train stations which makes it easier for you to use because you don't have to keep your phone out of your pocket when you wait for an announcement.
But it will of course still work just as well with your microphone in smaller train stations and even other countries where the campaign doesn't run.
Bon voyage.
