BACKGROUND
BACKGROUND
You might have heard of the 10,000-hour rule, which suggests that it takes 10,000 hours to become proficient in a particular skill. However, it is often misunderstood. It actually takes 10,000 hours to reach an elite level in that skill. The learning curve is steepest in the first 20 hours of learning, and after that, you can achieve a decent level of proficiency. This understanding was crucial for the Danish union, HK, to demonstrate. Their members are likely required to adapt and acquire new skills in order to maintain their jobs. They are at risk of job loss due to the predicted irrelevance of their current skills within the next decade.
To showcase this concept, we presented a challenge to the Danish influencer, Lisbeth Østergaard, to learn how to draw in just 20 hours. This is how the 20-Hour Challenge was born.

PROCESS
PROCESS
The concept of 'Become a better beginner' was initially developed by Ole Hoffmann and Kristoffer Winther for HK, where an influencer learned to speak French. The 20-Hour Challenge emerged as a new campaign inspired by this concept. I made it with Sally Trier, Camilla Langvad, Mark Ellegaard, Søren Albrecthsen, Thomas Christenson, Kenneth Kruse Andersen, Ole and Kristoffer. I was responsible for the concept, social media strategy, graphic design and I also made illustrations for the campaign site.
